Cody held himself there for a moment, making sure his body weight alone was enough to keep the girl down. Cody never underestimated anyone, regardless of sex. He knew women that could kick cars to pieces with minimal effort.

"I guess that takes care of that, then," Cody said, idly scratching his stubbled chin as he let out a sigh of relief, "Not bad, you benders really are interesting to fight."

He allowed her to sit up next to him, then reached out to her. A broad hand cupped her cheek.

"Now then, as for that meal," he said, suddenly leaning in on her and planting his lips to hers, "I think I'll enjoy it right here."
