"Levitation, huh?" He had been wondering how this universe handles zero G, since his own had a lot of use out of it too. But he guesses some things worked the same. Machinery that can reduce gravity can also be used to increase it, whether it be gravity tethers or mass effect fields.

At the mention of religion, his expression falters. He can't help it, it's an ingrained instinct from most of his adult life. The connected thought to that makes him worry a little, "That religion wouldn't happen to involve everyone becoming a big happy lump of unity after death, would it?" A bit of bitterness comes out at that question, despite his earlier attempts to avoid being rude.
