[A: a village in the middle of nowhere, Japan]
[For whatever reason, you're in Azaka Village, a peaceful place with a large museum devoted to its history that nobody ever seems to go to. And for whatever reason - curiosity, losing track of time, an inability to play by the rules - you're exploring the museum after closing hours.

It doesn't take long before you realize that there is somebody in the museum with you, and now you're face to face with him. A man in all black, with a bright, gleaming sword has cornered you in one of the rooms. He advances upon you, holding the sword with one hand and with the other...

...pulling out a paper memo and pushing it in your face.]

The museum is closed

[B: slice of life jamjar]
[You've been sorted into a family with this guy who communicates with you largely by post-it notes and organizes and cleans things as a hobby. Since he's university age, he's been sorted as the father of the household.

So, as the father, he's going to try to fulfill his duties and cook something.

You wake up to the smell of burnt something. It's not clear what it was that was burnt, even if you go have a look at him glowering at the stove. There was food, and then it burnt beyond recognition.]

[Taking that card and humming quietly, now looking back at him.]

... Hmm, was there something wrong with the stove? [Lets try blaming that first before asking about his cooking abilities.]

[You mean well, Lapis, but there's no use. Suga shakes his head and writes a note.]

I have never been taught how to cook

[oneirism]

[In response, she simply nods, before just going to grab some pans and bowls.]

... I'll show you. My grandmother taught me some things when I was younger, so I can teach you too.

[His eyes go a bit wider, and he hesitates before writing down the next card.]

[She notes the hesitation, but doesn't mention it, instead just giving him a very small smile.]

... You're welcome. So then... [She goes through the process of cracking eggs into a bowl and whisking them to make an omlette, adding salt and pepper, before pouring it onto a heated pan.] The thing about eggs is that they keep cooking as long as they're hot, so you don't wanna keep them in the pan for too long.

[Just gonna swirl the egg around the pan, making sure that he's able to see before she looks back at him.] Do you want to put anything in them?

[Instead of answering, he goes to the pantry and pulls out a bag of rice, which he sets on the kitchen counter. He's not sure how much should go in omurice...]

[oneirism]

[Luckily Lapis has an idea, and she quickly gets out another pan, and motions Suga to hold the pan containing the still cooking omelette.]

... Can you keep swirling this around while I fry the rice?

[gemuinemanagement]

[He nods, and takes to his task of swirling the pan.

He looks very serious about it too, moving at the same speed she was moving. He's not going to burn this one. He's definitely not going to burn this one.]

[oneirism]

[She just blinks for a moment at how serious he is about this, but she focuses again on frying the rice, glancing over every so often to make sure this one doesn't burn before she finishes with the rice.]

... Okay, stop swirling it, I'm gonna put the rice in and then we can fold the egg over.

[He stops swirling it, carefully watching as she adds the rice. The sheer intensity of his staring might be a little creepy, especially considering that (as always) he's completely silent.

It's just an omelette, Suga. Please.]

[oneirism]

[A-at least he's serious about this. But any creepiness doesn't bother her, considering the whole spirit medium thing, and so she just casually adds the rice. And then grabs the spatula to hand to Suga.]

... Okay, now just fold the edges over and flip it onto a plate. [Luckily there's a plate ready on the counter, but she'll just be keeping an eye on how this goes.]

[Dexterity, thankfully, is not a problem for him. He folds over the edges carefully and places it on the plate.

Then he looks between the pan and the plate a few times. That's not burnt. Did he really make something not burnt?]

[oneirism]

[And Lapis just smiles, nodding happily at his success.]

... Mm, there you go! As long as you swirl the pan and don't leave the egg in there too long, it's pretty simple.

[He smiles back, and writes out another note.]

[oneirism]

[His smile gets her own to brighten a bit, and then she blinks at the note.]

... Hmm? Are you sure?

You did most of the work
It would be rude not to share

[oneirism]

... Well, alright. [Nod nod as she goes to get forks out, sitting down at the table.] It'll be easier if we just eat from the same plate.

[Then she'll just start putting ketchup on her portion, then offering it to Suga in case he wants some.]

[He does want some, actually, so their portions look pretty similar. Still, he's very careful to cut it in half so that they get exactly the same amount. No one being greedy.]

[oneirism]

[There's a blink when he cuts them in half, having been expecting him to have more since it is his omelette. Not that she doesn't mind having half since Lapis tends to inhale food, but still.]

... You can have more if you want, it is yours.

[gemuinemanagement]

[A firm shake of the head. Suga tends to 'talk' less over food because he doesn't like getting food stains on his memo cards, but he doesn't have to to communicate things like 'no way'.]

[oneirism]

[And Lapis can easily read the gestures, so she just sighs quietly as she goes to take a bite of her portion of omelette.]

... It wouldn't bother me, but if you're sure. And thank you.

[gemuinemanagement]

[That's confusing enough to need a memo card. He's careful not to get any omelette on it as he hands it to her.]

Why are you thanking me

[oneirism]

[She takes the card, making sure to be careful as well, and then blinks, tilting her head.]

... For sharing. You didn't have to, after all.

[gemuinemanagement]

[But it's hardly even his omelette when she did most of the work! He wants to write that, but he thinks it would be useless, so all he does is shake his head and take a bite out of his portion.

...It's really good. Much better than he's used to having.]

[oneirism]

[Because she was teaching him and so it's technically his! That's her logic and she's sticking to it, and so she happily munches on the food, only pausing to speak again.]
