a. space
[ one moment, she is running through the once-esteemed halls of honnouji, and the next she is not.
there is a bit of a tip-off, of course. a sense of disorientation, a near fogginess permeates her thoughts. (it does not deserve its place; she concentrates, steels her focus, and just like that the haze is cut through.) a brief check of her surroundings is enough to show just how much has changed - fluorescent lighting. slick floors. holograms and other assorted gadgets (well within inumuta's domain, no doubt). and above all else, the reinforced viewport showing the endless expanse of space.
how interesting.
she holds her head high, not a trace of shame accompanying her nudity or manacled wrists as she turns on her heel, and strides to the nearest doorway. with or without clothing, armed or unarmed, on terra firma or off... none of that matters. these are petty obstacles and nothing more. she will continue, as she always has, towards her vision, after all, satsuki kiryuin has always done whatever was necessary to see her goals realized.
and there is nothing, on this earth or off, that satsuki kiryuin cannot do. ]
b. horror
[ she cuts through the thing in a single, graceful motion.
perhaps these things could have taken her by surprise on the first day. their appearance is certainly enough to merit hesitation - writhing masses, mouths and eyes and tongues where there should be none. but she has survived here for months, and at this point the small ones are little more than a mild nuisance. a single cut through what she knows to be their brain, a single step to avoid the gunk that spews forth afterward, and they are disposed of.
whoever is watching her, on the other hand... ]
Show yourself.
[ bakuzan remains unsheathed as she turns her gaze to the shadows. the message is perfecly clear to all who look upon her.
speak, or you will be next. ]
c. general
[ she is sipping her tea when she hears the knock at the door. it comes as no surprise, of course - she has been expecting this meeting for some time. nevertheless, it is a harsher end to the silence than she might have liked, and the corners of her lips tug softly downward.
she takes another sip, closing her eyes as the warm flavor passes through, and speaks only after she has finished. ]
You may enter.
[ even when phrased as permission, it still seems like a command. perhaps it's just something in her demeanor - her authoritarian tone, or her unquestioning nature.
the door finally opens. satsuki does not bother to look. ]
Well? Speak quickly, or hold your tongue.

how can i not do space
He too, had found himself in space all too abruptly. Although apparently he was given a bit more time on this floating man-made vessel than Satsuki, and it was just enough for him to get some information about the status of... things. Still in his Nudist Beach gear, he bows once he notices it's her walking towards the door he was going to go through to greet her. With a towel, if she so wants it.]
Lady Satsuki.
i ask myself this every day
[ she stops in front of him, shoulders shrugged back, and lifts her arms. after all, chained wrists makes putting on a towel at least slightly more difficult; there's no question she could do it, but the less spectacle she needs to make the better.
and, without even waiting for him to take action, she gets straight to business. ]
Have the others arrived as well?
no subject
So far, no. Although, should we be wanting them to arrive, rather than us finding a means to leave?
[And at the very least, removing her chains.
Can you break those cuffs]no subject
Where we meet is irrelevant. Our priority at this point is to reconvene.
[ matoi has been given over to junketsu. the blade in her fake toenail is all that remains of bakuzan. divided as they are, with what little firepower they have, they stand little chance against the oncoming onslaught.
her cuffs are broken, and with that she is back to her full capacities. she runs a finger over her newly-unshackled wrist, contemplating their next move.
assuming the worst... ]
How long will it take to access this station's vital systems?
[ the thought that inumuta might not be capable of getting access to a space station's inner workings only occurs for a moment - and is promptly dismissed. she has chosen the best of the best, after all. failure isn't an option here. ]
no subject
[Reconvening anywhere would be best, but logic wise, taking the other three away from where they're needed for the sake of it would be less convenient than finding a way back themselves. And there are, nautrally, more remains of Bakuzan than just her nail... just not with them here. And he's all but useless in a fight... Not really a good start to this.
As for accessing the station's vital systems... Two days, probably. One if he doesn't sleep.]
A day.
[Aaand he already has his phone out.]
no subject
the other students and what remains of nudist beach are another story, of course, but... ]
Then I leave it to you.
[ she begins to walk once again, less briskly this time. she holds her head high as always, her gaze focused straight ahead - but in the corners of her vision she observes what she can of the station surrounding them.
for now, this is the best they can do. until inumuta makes significant progress, she might as well familiarize herself with her surroundings. ]
no subject
Yes, Lady Satsuki.
[He replies automatically, and then looks up to see her off... in... the direction of a dead-end.
That moment when he considers how likely it would be she would hate being told she's going in the wrong direction... What would be worse? Correcting her, or knowing she's going the wrong way and NOT correcting her...?
Why is life so hard.
After a few moments pass, Inumuta jogs to catch up with Satsuki, walking along side her as he speaks.]
Lady Satsuki, I think you want the other direction.
[This one leads to a bunch of space closets.]
yasssssss WOW REMEMBER THAT TIME I FINISHED THE TAG
Of course.
[ -and spins on the ball of her foot, hair lifting gently behind her as she resumes her stride in the opposite direction. she may be proud, but chasing wild geese in this sort of scenario is a worthless endeavor. information, knowledge, eyes where she cannot place them - this is why she approached inumuta long ago, is it not? ]
Are there others in this place?
no because you've never finished the tag
... Ah. Yes, and no.
[That's a complicated question. Because all of the others in this place...
ARE ROBOTS!!!!!!!]
As it turns out, we're aboard a self-sufficient space station. We're the only humans here. The rest are robots who upkeep the station.
weeps softly
whatsatsuki's eyes narrow. a fully-automated, self-sufficient space station certainly could have its uses, and she doesn't doubt inumuta could make any necessary adjustments. but the burning question is still why they've been brought here. it doesn't seem like a whim of ragyo kiryuin's, but she certainly wouldn't put it past her... ]
And what purpose does it serve?
[ REVOCS-owned or not is the real question, of course. past that, any details are just that - spare details. ]
no subject
satsuki's reaction to absolute bullshit being "ah yes everything makes sense now" is so canon it hurtsAs for whether or not it's REVOCS-owned...]
Seems to mostly be, more or less, a docking station. But I haven't found any information tying it to REVOCS.
[Mostly because usually, their logo is stamped on everything and anything related to them.]
no subject
further evidence that she's literally perfect for dw rp, she fits in so many settings][ no information tying it to REVOCS, at least superficially... it's imperfect. it could very easily be a trap. but given proper precautions, this could be the unexpected windfall that will change the course of this uprising.
she takes a deep breath, exhales, and breathes again. there are so many questions that beg for answers here, and there is so little time to address each one of them. for now, she'll have to address the most pressing ones. ]
...food storage. [ and, realizing just how unhelpful that was- ] If this place once had human traffic, there must be food somewhere.
[ it's less pleasant to think about than she'd like to admit, but the uprising against life fibers would die in its infancy if they starved in this place. ]
no subject
...Ah, food?
[He hadn't even been thinking about it. But of course, Lady Satsuki would be hungry. Who knows how long she's gone without food...!]
Right.
[A few swipes on his phone later-]
Straight, and then left on the third door. It's the kitchen and store room.
[Does this mean... he's going to have to make food for Satsuki?
Dear God.]
B
[She would have helped a bit sooner, but in truth she'd only just noticed Satsuki, and the thirty seconds between seeing her and now had been spent watching her effortlessly dispatch her attackers. There really hadn't been any need to help her at all -- not surprising, of course. This is Satsuki Kiryuin.]
no subject
and then she closes her eyes, exhales, and turns to look at the corpse once again. (it's dead, certainly, but that's no guarantee it's safe in this place. the parasites have been resurfacing lately, after all.) ]
Jakuzure. [ as formal as ever - of course. ] When did you arrive?
no subject
At her question, Nonon straightens up, leaning her baton over one shoulder. The way she asks it makes it sound like they both planned to be here.]
About fifteen minutes ago, but I don't know how I got here.
no subject
[ she barely waits for a response before she sheathes bakuzan and resumes her patrol. she doesn't slow her stride or delay any longer than necessary, of course, nor should she need to; nonon jakuzure is one of her four devas, after all. anyone worthy of standing by satsuki kiryuin's side should (and will, she knows) take their place without needless delay. ]
These vermin only die when their brains are removed. Severing at the stem or complete destruction should suffice. [ her eyes glance to the side, her face not shifting angles even slightly. ] Under no circumstances are the larger ones to be engaged upon. Do you understand?
[ she'd never say it aloud, but seeing one of her devas again... it's a comforting feeling, something akin to a cup of soroi's finest tea.
one of her most prized allies has returned. ]
no subject
Though, that last bit gives her pause. The "larger ones" are too dangerous for Satsuki? Or perhaps there is another reason they should be avoided.]
Got it. [Said playfully, though she is taking her words to heart.] So even the Goku Uniforms won't work on the big ones?
no subject
Clothing holds no sway in this barren land. [ a pause as she lets her words sink in, and then- ] Have you not noticed yet?
[ so many of the other arrivals had made a fuss when they showed up - people claiming to be magicians and wizards and demons, suddenly trapped with the weaknesses of a regular human body. it was those fools, complacent with their own luxuries and trappings, that had been the first to die. ]
The situation has changed. What will you do now?
[ satsuki has no doubts that nonon will be just fine without her uniform. she is a deva, is she not? one of humanity's finest.
she won't fail like the others. ]
no subject
Between the two of us, we can handle anything in this place. Don't you think?
B /slides gently out of woodwork
Oi, you can wait your turn! I'm busy!
[She slides gracelessly out of the darkness, scissor blade held out to one side; it might be difficult to tell as much at first glance, though, with half a dozen of the gibbering masses shish kebab'd along the length of it, some still moving, others not. She raises the blade in the air, spinning it rapidly on its axis and pureeing the creatures before they have a chance to hit the ground.
She sighs, almost disappointed that she didn't need to activate Senketsu, and begins to walk away, before stopping, something catching her attention.] Eh? Forgetting what? [There's a brief pause, then she turns to face Satsuki.]
Ah, right.
pushes you back in
Matoi.
[ she watches with a look somewhere between disinterest and disgust. making a show of killing these things? how utterly tasteless. ]
What reason do you have for being here?
onee-chan why ;_;
Hah? The hell you talkin' about? You think I know where "here" is?
[She points her blade at the other girl, feet poised to move at the first sign of a threat.]
If this is another one of your shit plans, I will end you!
it's a big sis's job to give out ~tough love~
she doesn't sigh so much as exhale, disapproval plain in the tightness of her lips. of all the people who could have shown up, she'd been expecting the most of ryuko matoi. if anyone could have stayed aware long enough to have some idea of how they'd gotten here...
none of that matters. ]
Put that thing away. [ under any other circumstances, she'd leave it at that - but the situation is different. if survival in this place relies on being in peak condition, she simply can't afford to draw out a fight from the kanto vagabond. so she sheathes bakuzan, a sign of armistice, before continuing. ] Do you really believe you're the first to be brought here?
no subject
[She shrugs and lowers her weapon, planting it tip-first in the pavement to give herself something to lean on. She may not like her, but she's pragmatic enough not to object to a temporary alliance, if that's what it comes to. Not that she'll give her any less of a hard time, of course.]
So, what, the great Satsuki Kiryuin is the pawn of something bigger, then? Now that's rich.
B
No point in hanging back now though.]
It's just me.
omg a monkey
she lets out a soft "hmph" before turning back to the corpse. ]
How long ago did you arrive?
electric shamisen intensifies, but eeee satsuki
A few hours ago. I was wondering if anyone else was here.
I guess this answers that.
dragon and monkey hangouts, hell yeah
[ she doesn't mention that those few are the only ones that are left at this point. why bother? she's certain he can feel the aura of this place - desert, death, and decay stretching for miles, with only the unfaltering light of satsuki kiryuin to shine through.
whatever gods or overseers rule this place, they have made a terrible mistake by returning her one of her devas. ]
i love her and the devas together so much hnngh, all 5 of them are great
So he nods at that, looking in the direction of what she'd slain moments ago.]
Understood, Lady Satsuki. [A beat.] And what about these? I've found a few lurking around, but I can't tell anything about them from their movements.
[Kind of hard to discern nightmarish beasts with your hearing and sense of smell alone.]
they really are. shirou can come along too
[ it's not the most helpful of descriptions, but at least it's something, right? ]
Writhing appendages, gaping mouths awaiting weak prey... They truly are disgusting things. [ "disgusting." she says it less in revolted tones and more in fiercely controlled ones; these chaotic beasts had almost been enough to massacre all those still living here. and yet some still remained, survivors for several months now.
humans, content as they were in their own complacency, never ceased to adapt. ]
b.
You fight a lot.
[It's a logical conclusion.]
